Gabriel Tiscareno started the first game and struggled a bit, but he was let down mightily by his defense. His final line was six innings and seven runs, but just three of those were earned. The offensive push came from Allen Colborn and Trenten Fenster, who each had two hits. It ultimately proved not to be enough, and the final score was 8-7.
Senior Trenten Fenster was given his first start of the season in the nightcap, and he delivered. A complete game shutout propelled the Bears to a dominating 8-0 victory, and his offense was just as impressive. Josh Volponi delivered three hits and three RBIs, while Jeff Kuemmeler and Seth Victor each also got on base three times.
The rubber match was a 10-2 loss for the Bears. Pablo Magallanes was unable to continue his dominant form, as he allowed eight runs in just four innings. The offense also sputtered mightily, with ten hits being largely wasted. It proved to be a disappointing day, as line drives found gloves.
This series marked the end of the club baseball careers of four seniors: Seth Victor, Trenten Fenster, Josh Volponi, and Austin Ochola.
