Paul is definitely a special young boy, resulting from being dropped on his head repeatedly as a child. These blows to the head have caused irreparable brain damage that cause Paul to repeat nonsense phrases, such as "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" and "the moon landing was a hoax." Paul is often distracted during games and can be seen looking up into the sky with a frightened look on his face. When asked what he was looking at, he responded with "The aliens man. They're coming for me. It's Area 51 all over again." Although he is an Econ major, he does not participate in the political system because "voting is useless. Everyone knows the Illuminati chooses the next president." Paul thinks waterfalls are dope. Suh dude.

Brendan "the choog" Vinnicombe looks to log significant innings behind the dish this season, in addition to somersaulting his way into the Cal Club Baseball Plyometric record books. During his preseason interview, when asked "when will you be getting your next haircut?", the Choog promptly dropped the mic and left the room, without saying a word. Brendan's hobbies include shampooing, conditioning, rinsing, blow-drying, and combing his hair - in that order.

Gabe, or “Little Puppet” as he is known on the streets, hails from the mean calles of South Gate, LA. At the tender age of 8, he formed Cesar Chavez Elementary School’s first gang - terrorizing the local 1st and 2nd graders. No lunch pail went unpillaged, and no milk money was safe from his threatening crew. By middle school he had developed a reputation, and by the time he hit South Gate High his body shot record was 40-0. All the major crews were trying to recruit him, from MS13 to the Mexican Mafia (word on the street was he was leaning towards the South Gate Surrenos). But one night he had a prophetic dream in which he was face to face with a 10 foot ‘el tigre,’ with no where to run and not enough guts to fight him. That morning when we woke up he realized two things: that he had splooged his pants out of straight terror, and two, that he would commit his life to the gospel. From that day on he wore the holy santos across his neck, and dedicated himself to a life of academics, club baseball, and celibacy. The team is thrilled to have someone to lead team prayers this year - IN LITTLE PUPPET WE TRUST.

Coming off a tremendous offseason in which he appeared at not one, not two, but a whopping three practices, Andrew "Boots" Soncrant has emerged as the clear favorite to lead the team in number of types of sunglasses worn, speeding tickets, and amount of unfair punitive laps run. If there is a safe bet in all of club baseball it's that Boots will bring his signature sense of style and jovial disposition to the field day in and day out. Proud to be a bear.

Innocent Itai is well known for his stellar high school baseball career, mainly because he never stops talking about that one time in high school when he hit 5 homeruns in 5 games, or whatever the actual story is. No one actually listens long enough to remember much of what he says. Itai claims that he knows how to slide, but this cannot be proven as no one has ever seen him get his jersey dirty. When asked about his greatest accomplishment, he responded with, "well this one time I talked to a girl." Again, this has never been proven and is more of a myth than fact. He has still never won Kip's trivia.

Matthew Park, also known as Chatty Matty, is an up and coming Freshman on the Bears squad. After overcoming the drama of almost being cut a few weeks after already making the team, Mr. Park is making a name for himself with his constant hustle and his positive attitude. Some even compare him to the likes of Itai Reuveni who is well known throughout as the most positive and hardest-working individual on the team. Matthew spends most of his time on a quest for the coveted number 1 world ranking in NHL 15. He currently sits at the top 30 but with his great attitude and work ethics I'm sure he will be number 1 in no time. Matthew also enjoys going to Church and doing things there. When he's not playing NHL or at Church he can be found diligently studying in Main Stacks or Doe Library. We look forward to the diversity Matthew will bring to the team and to the excellent rice based dishes he will serve everyone during road trips.
P.S. Unknown to many Matthew Park is also under investigation as the leading suspect in the silent samurai controversy. He refused to comment on the matter.

Height: 6'0

Bats/Throws: Left/Right
High School: Haxtun High School

Austin's main role on the team is keeping Carlos Preciado under control. This has proven to be a full time job and really put a strain on the club's budget, as a paid nanny has never been required in the past. Unfortunately, Austin has been ruled ineligible this season because he has spent the last 7 years playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates under the alias Andrew McCutchen. He attempted to hide his true identity by hitting left handed, but for some reason he stood out among the diverse team. He will spend the rest of the season on the bench hanging out with Daniel Hennessey.

Although he is by far the smallest guy on the team, not just in terms of height but also overall muscle mass, Ian has become well known for his power at the plate. He has two homeruns in his Cal career. However, Ian does not know that the team's home field was chosen with a very short porch in right field so the little guy could maybe hit one out and feel better about himself. Very few have realized that Ian is actually Pete Wheeler from Backyard Baseball. He was forced to dye his hair to play due to the ginger cap on the team that was already filled by Jackson Michalski. When not playing baseball, Ian enjoys not lifting weights and not making gains.

Bats/Throws: Switch/Right
Hometown: Shizuoka, Japan
High School: Hamamatsu-kita High School
Major: Business
Alright, here we go. Go “Flamingo” Matsushita is a real go-getter from Japan who we really think is going to help the team from the get-go. Go decided to forego his freshman season to master a little known craft of dancing the tango while eating a mango and playing the bongos. Go has a lot of trouble ordering at restaurants and being allowed to eat it there, as he often asks if he can get the food “For Go.” Though it is his first year on the team, the club has noticed that Go often has trouble listening to his base coach Brenton “B-Money” Arndt, who often will yell “STOP GO STOP” as Go heads into third. Go will only watch movies if he purchases his tickets on Fandango, and he claims his favorite movies are “Fargo” and “Vertigo,” though we keep telling him there is no way he saw either in theaters. Though he has a large ego, and claims he plays every position, coach has decided that the best place for him is to hit fungos for the team. BINGO!

Pablo can be frequently seen wearing his trademark sunglasses, and showing off his 5 o’clock shadow. Pablo is entering his 4th year with the team.

Contrary to popular belief, Pablo is not the best fence hopper on the team. That title is held by none other than the third best player from El Cerrito in Cal Club Baseball history (behind Ryan Clough and Sam Winter, the only other players from El Cerrito ever to play at Cal). Lucas enjoys long walks back to the dugout, typically after taking strike 3. He often appears confused, but don't let that fool you, he is actually very confused most of the time.

After Graduation, Kuemmeler plans to join the peace corps and eventually wants to work with minority and at-risk youth to ameliorate social inequities. When asked about his goals for his final season, Jeff hopes to become the first player in NCBA history to "strike out or go yard" in every plate appearance.

Gabe has made many poor decisions in his life, but the biggest one may be choosing the same major as team scrub Isaac Castro. When asked why he chose the major, he responded with, "I didn't even want to be in Haas anyway." His next mistake came on the basketball court when he attempted to guard teammate Allen Colborn, well known as being the only player on the team who can dunk. Gabe will attempt to silence the critics (consisting of the entire team and anyone who has ever seen him play) on the diamond. You can Jew it Gabe.
Jack Gilmore #4

Jack Gilmore is a new addition to the Cal club team this year who promises to add depth, and weight, to our team. This massive hunk of meat is one of 3 club players who are members of the elusive 200 pound club. He will fit nicely into the ranks of fellow beefy first basemen, Jeff Kuemmler and Jason Soto(who is the beefiest). These three are sure to make for a fairly lopsided infield, as they weigh more than the rest of us combined. Jack has also taken on the role of team mom, providing snacks and other goodies to the team. When not digging out dirty balls he can be found eating mayonnaise on crackers and singing Marvin Gaye.

High School: Rio Mesa High School
Major: Political Economy
A solid middle infielder with good range, Isaac Castro is known for his mouth more than anything. When Isaac was 2 days old, he said his first word, and he hasn’t stopped talking since. Throughout his little league years and his time at the prestigious Rio Mesa High School, the legend of Isaac’s on-field chatter grew. Baserunners started wearing noise-cancelling headphones to block out the constant chatter coming from shortstop. This year, however, Isaac faces a new challenge. New teammate Carlos Preciado currently leads the team in words spoken per minute, with Isaac coming in at a close second. We have faith that Isaac can overtake Carlos as the season progresses and guide us with his occasionally clever dugout chants to victory.

Clay Carey #51
Class: Senior
Position: P/1B
Height: 6'2
Weight: 180
Bats/Throws: Right/Right
Hometown: Palo Alto, CA
High School: Palo Alto High School
Major: "Engineering"
If anyone personifies the Lair on this campus it's Clay Carey. Despite coming from Palo Alto, CA, Clay always seems to step out of ASS Manor wearing clothing in such poor quality that your local Telegraph homeless guy wouldn’t take them if he offered. His awkwardly large feet, oversized shirts, and mismatched socks made for an awkward interview with the Lair when they told him he didn’t have to dress up until the summer camp started. After claiming he was too busy with his Lair requirements during his freshman year, Clay is finally returning to the squad for his 4th (but definitely not final) year at Cal. Clay just squeezed by the tryout process this year with an overwhelmingly mediocre bullpen due to a shady relationship with fellow ASS Manor resident Brendan Vinnicombe. Clay loves to pitch to Brendan on the field as well as at home, making the name of their lovely abode awkwardly apparent. Nonetheless, we are confident Clay will bring more versatility to the baseball diamond than he does with his one-dimensional play on the basketball court. If all else fails, Clay was a solid last-second pickup that can complement Brenton Ardt’s late-game antics on the bench.
